The 2022 Australian International Coffee Awards is currently underway at the Melbourne Showgrounds in Victoria, judging taking place from the 8th to the 10th of August.
Postponed for the 2021 season due to Covid, the last winner of the Champion Australian Roaster award was Campos Roastery in 2020. Tawainese Roaster, Caffe Artigiano took home the Champion International Roaster award in the same year. Several “Coffee Trophies” and “Best in Class” trophies were also awarded, with a full list of winners available on the competition website.
Entries for this competition continue to grow and come from all over the globe. The Melbourne Royal website reads, “Established in 2013 by Melbourne Royal®, the Australian International Coffee Awards is the only international roasting competition in Australia. In 2020, the competition received more than 800 entries from over 180 exhibitors from around the world.”
The winner of the 2022 Australian International Coffee Awards will be announced at the 2022 Melbourne Royal Show on the 1st of October, which coincides with International Coffee day.
