Brazil Makes History at the World Barista Championship

Jun 25, 2023

In a thrilling turn of events at this year's World Barista Championship, Brazil's very own Boram Um emerged victorious, securing the prestigious title for the first time in the country's history. Not only that, but Boram's remarkable achievement also marked only the second win ever for a South American competitor in the history of the competition.

But the talent doesn't stop there within the Um family. Boram's brother, Garam Um, showcased his brewing skills at the World Coffee Championships, where he impressively won third place in the Brewer's Cup category. Clearly, coffee excellence runs in their blood.

Boram’s win serves as an inspiration to aspiring baristas and coffee enthusiasts worldwide, and we are delighted for him and his family. Let's raise our cups to the Um brothers and their remarkable achievements, as they have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the world of coffee.
