My name is Dhan Tamang, I was born Nepal and now based in the United Kingdom. I’ve been a barista since 2007, and coffee quickly became more than just a job; it’s my way of creating, connecting, and sharing stories. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to compete internationally, winning the UK Latte Art Championship six times and participating in the World Latte Art Championships. What really excites me, however, is exploring how every coffee can tell a story through technique and creativity.
When I’m not behind the bar, I enjoy going to the gym, running, and traveling. Exploring new cities and coffee cultures inspires my art, and I love bringing those experiences back into my work; whether it’s a new latte design or experimenting on a Dalla Corte machine.
Honestly, a day without coffee feels incomplete. But more than just drinking it, I can’t spend a day without making it properly; every cup deserves care, precision, and respect.
I’m proud of my latte art since it’s my way of connecting with people and expressing emotion. I also enjoy teaching and inspiring others to discover their own style and creativity through coffee. And yes, I like to think I have a good eye for detail in everything I do!
One place I always return to is Kavi Coffee. It’s where I’ve spent countless hours practicing, experimenting, and learning. And, of course, having a Dalla Corte Zero Barista machine there makes every espresso and latte a perfect canvas for creativity.
